Special Equestrians

Special Equestrians, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with physical, cognitive, or emotional challenges through therapeutic relationships with horses. The organization’s mission is to increase independence and improve the quality of life for riders through various therapeutic methods, supported by a team of instructors, therapists, and volunteers. Special Equestrians values safety, compassion, and the healing power of human-animal bonds. High school students can volunteer as sidewalkers, horse handlers, or horse care team members, directly assisting riders during their therapeutic sessions and helping care for the program’s horses.
